Job Description

As a Software Engineer focused on Build and Deploy at Collaborative Robotics, you will be responsible for building software infrastructure for next-generation robotics. You will design and optimize build and deployment pipelines, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and create robust software delivery workflows. Key responsibilities include improving build performance, implementing versioning strategies, and ensuring a scalable deployment strategy. This role requires strong system-level problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to innovation. This role requires working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic start-up environment as part of a small team.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of build systems (e.g., Bazel, CMake).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Experience deploying software to diverse devices.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerization.
  • Proficiency with Git and Linux environments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good to have:
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
  • Experienced with C++ and Python.
  • Experience with cloud tools for deployment, monitoring, and logging.
  • Experience working on autonomy systems.
  • Familiarity with ROS2.

This role is located at our Santa Clara, CA or Seattle, WA headquarters. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive improvements in build performance, reliability, and system observability.
  • Implement versioning strategies and manage build artifacts.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure a robust and scalable deployment strategy.
  • Develop and maintain cross-platform build infrastructure optimized for speed and reproducibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of build systems (eg. Bazel, CMake).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Experience deploying software to a diverse fleet of devices.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerization technologies.
  • Proficiency with Git, version control, and Linux environments.
  • Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, collaborative and dynamic start-up environment as part of a small team.
  • Willing to occasionally travel.
  • Must have and maintain US work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experienced with C++ and Python.
  • Experience with cloud tools for remote deployment, monitoring, and logging of embedded software.
  • Experience working on autonomy systems.
  • Familiarity with ROS2.

The base salary range for this position is $175,000-$195,000 plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and experience level. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the noted geographic area. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
