Job Description

As a Software Engineer in YouTube's ContentID team based in Zurich, Switzerland, you'll develop systems enhancing video content matching. This involves building tools to provide creators and partners control over their content and attributes, complying with legal requirements. Responsibilities include solving problems like developing tools to quickly identify fake videos and optimizing claim processes. You will work on ambiguous problems, such as reducing the number of claims sent to partners without compromising accuracy, and leveraging historical claim data to improve decision-making. The role demands expertise in data analysis and software engineering, with a passion for the YouTube platform.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field
2+ years data analysis experience
2+ years software development experience
2+ years software engineering experience
Develop ContentID systems
Solve ambiguous problems

Good to have:

Knowledge of YouTube platform
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in data analysis.
2 years of experience in software development.
2 years of experience in software engineering or related technical field.

Preferred qualifications:

Knowledge of and passion for YouTube platform and ecosystem.
Excellent collaboration and organizational skills.
Excellent communication, people, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Develop systems that build on our powerful video content matching system to provide YouTube’s media partners and individual creators with the control over their content and personal attributes used in YouTube videos that they demand (and in many cases are required by law).
Help solve problems (e.g., develop a tool to show partners within minutes of upload fake videos that concern them) and end-to-end ownership of ambiguous problems (e.g., how do we reduce the number of claims we send to partners to review without impacting precision?, how can we use historic claim behaviour between a partner and channel to make better claiming decisions?).
