Job Description

This Software Engineer II, Full Stack role within Google's Direct Channels & Memberships team focuses on transforming how devices and services integrate to offer users a seamless experience. Responsibilities include designing and developing modules for the Content Management System (gCMS), delivering innovative content publishing and launch management features, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. The role involves managing Google Store content and updates, building merchandising pages, setting up promotions and experiments, and scheduling product releases. Engineers will utilize Google's infrastructure (Boq, BoqWeb, Spanner) to build scalable, low-latency, and resilient applications and backend systems. Management of gCMS aspects, including localization, content authoring tools, leak detection, launch management, and the publishing engine are also key responsibilities.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
1+ year software development experience (Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript)
gCMS module development
Content publishing features
Collaboration with stakeholders

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in Computer Science
Experience with machine learning models
Accessible technology development
Content management system experience

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience building machine models.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience building software modules for content management and publishing systems.

Responsibilities

Design and develop modules for Content Management System (gCMS). Deliver innovative content publishing and launch management features.
Work closely with software engineering leads, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to define the goal and architecture for new capabilities and build enterprise grade systems.
Manage Google Store content and updates, build merchandising pages, set up promotions, experiments and schedule product releases.
Use standard Google infrastructure (e.g., Boq, BoqWeb, Spanner) to build scalable, low latency, resilient web applications and backend systems.
Manage works on gCMS, including localization, content authoring tools, leak identification and detection system, launch management and publishing engine.
