Job Description

Google is seeking a Software Engineer II, Machine Learning to develop machine learning systems and models powering the Pixel personal agent. Responsibilities include data collection design, data engineering, feature engineering, model training, model evaluation, and collaborating with engineers, researchers, and product managers. The role involves Android/Pixel application development, designing evaluation frameworks, staying current on ML techniques, and applying them to technical solutions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent programming skills in C++ and Python and a passion for machine learning.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
1 year software development experience (Python, C++, Java, JavaScript)
Develop Android/Pixel applications
Design data collection solutions
Design and evaluate ML models

Good to have:

NLP, LLMs, or Computer Vision experience
Applied ML or ML research experience
Excellent C++ and Python skills
Problem-solving skills

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models, or Computer Vision.
Experience in applied machine learning or machine learning research.
Experience in Android Development.
Excellent programming skills in C++ and Python.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Passionate and respectful team player.

Collect, clean, and tune data to develop, maintain, and evaluate machine learning models.
