Job Description

As a Software Engineer III, Full Stack, Core at Google, you'll contribute to the development of critical projects. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions, working across the full stack (backend languages like Java, Python, Go, or C++; frontend experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS). Responsibilities include writing code, participating in design reviews, code reviews, contributing to documentation, and troubleshooting system issues. The Core team focuses on building central solutions and strengthening existing systems across Google's products. You'll need strong problem-solving and collaboration skills to thrive in this dynamic environment. You will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2+ years software development experience
2+ years data structures/algorithms experience
Full-stack development experience
Code writing, review, and debugging

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in CS
Experience with accessible technologies
Experience with Java, Python, Go, or C++

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
2 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, etc.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
