As a Software Engineer III at Google Assistant, you will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions crucial to Google's needs. You'll collaborate on projects impacting billions of users, working with cutting-edge technologies in areas such as artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and large-scale system design. Responsibilities include writing product/system code, participating in design reviews, code reviews, contributing to documentation, debugging issues, and managing project priorities. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and a passion for innovation within a fast-paced environment. You'll work on projects critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams as you and the business evolve.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years software development experience (or 1 year with advanced degree)
  • 2 years experience with data structures/algorithms
  • Code writing, design reviews, debugging
  • Contribute to documentation
Good to have:
  • Master's or PhD in CS or related field
  • Experience with accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
