Job Description

This Software Engineer III position at Google focuses on Google Cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing code, participating in design reviews, contributing to documentation, debugging system issues, and managing project deliverables. The role requires experience in software development, data structures and algorithms, and large-scale infrastructure development. The ideal candidate will have experience with distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. They will work on critical projects, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as needed. The work involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions for Google Cloud.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2+ years software development experience
2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
2+ years building large-scale infrastructure
Code writing, review, and debugging skills

Good to have:

Master's or PhD in Computer Science
Experience with accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
2 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
