Job Description

Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to contribute to Google Cloud Security and Privacy infrastructure. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing code, participating in design reviews, contributing to documentation, debugging and resolving system issues, and working on large-scale infrastructure projects. The role requires experience in software development, data structures and algorithms, and large-scale infrastructure development. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in performance analysis, system diagnosis, and software testing, along with experience developing accessible technologies. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary, bonus, equity, and benefits.

Must have:

Software development experience (2+ years)
Data structures and algorithms experience (2+ years)
Large-scale infrastructure experience (2+ years)
Code review and debugging skills
Contribute to documentation

Good to have:

Master's degree in CS
Performance analysis experience
Experience with visualization tools
Experience developing accessible technologies
Proficiency in software test engineering

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
