As a Software Engineer, Infrastructure, Commerce at Google, you'll design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions for Google's massive commerce platform. You'll work on projects critical to Google's needs, managing priorities and deadlines. Responsibilities include writing code, participating in design reviews, reviewing peer code, contributing to documentation, and troubleshooting system issues. You'll leverage your experience with data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and SQL to build scalable and reliable infrastructure. The role involves collaboration with stakeholders and other engineers to ensure high-quality software development and deployment.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years software development experience
  • 2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
  • 2+ years building infrastructure/distributed systems
  • SQL experience
  • Code design and review
Good to have:
  • Master's or PhD in CS
  • Experience with accessible technologies
  • Data mining and machine learning experience
  • C++ experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience building and developing infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • Experience working with SQL, Design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience in Data Mining and Machine Learning.
  • Experience working with C++.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide on available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
