Job Description
Scopely's Looney Tunes team in Bangalore seeks a Software Engineer (Java) to build and maintain features and products. Responsibilities include crafting, building, and maintaining new/existing features, defining engineering best practices, providing production support, system diagnosis, and solving problems. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of software development experience with Java/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, SOA, REST, and experience with scalable architectures, performance testing, and multi-threaded applications. Strong data structures and algorithms fundamentals are essential, along with experience in scrum/agile teams and excellent communication skills. The role involves working on backend systems for games played by millions daily, contributing to a DevOps culture and collaborating within a vibrant, creative team.
Must have:
- 2+ years Java/J2EE experience
- Spring & Hibernate skills
- SOA/REST design experience
- Scalable architecture expertise
- Performance testing & tuning
- Multi-threaded application experience
- Strong DSA fundamentals
- Scrum/Agile experience
Good to have:

Scopely is looking for a Software Engineer to join The Looney Tunes team in Bangalore on a hybrid basis!

What You’ll Do
- You have a proven understanding of web and mobile stacks building critical application features using industry-standard engineering best practices. You have experience working with large scale applications. You are a hardworking and high energy worker, who thrives on being in a vibrant, creative and lively work environment, building the back-end systems that power the games that millions of people play every day!
- Work with team members to craft, build and maintain new/existing features and products
- Define engineering best practices Provide production support, system diagnosis and solving
- Support and be a critical part of our DevOps culture
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of software development experience
- Experience and skilled with Java/J2EE, including Spring and Hibernate
- Experience working on applications using SOA, REST design principles
- Experience working with scalable architectures and environment
- Experience with performance testing and tuning applications
- Experience working on multi-threaded applications
- Strong fundamentals in Data Structures and Algorithms
- A flexible self-starter who thrives on the challenges of working with new and varied technologies
- Strong understanding of design/programming best-practices and various design patterns
- Experience working in scrum/agile teams
- Strong communication skills
- Bachelor's Degrees in Computer Science or work experience equivalent
Bonus Points
- Experience and skilled with cloud-based services, especially Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience with Mongo DB
- Experience working in the games industry
- Love playing games
