Job Description

This Software Engineer II, ML Infrastructure role at Google involves developing large-scale data ingestion and processing pipelines, building systems to fine-tune, evaluate, and visualize ML system performance, working on face authentication model releases for Pixel devices, and expanding authentication infrastructure to support other devices and teams. The ideal candidate will have experience with software development (Python, C++, Java, etc.), data structures and algorithms, and building distributed systems. Experience with machine learning, back-end development (C++ or Python), and data science/analytics is preferred. The role requires expertise in developing and deploying ML systems at scale within a large-scale infrastructure environment. Responsibilities include building and maintaining high-performance data pipelines, ensuring the reliability and scalability of ML systems, and collaborating with other engineers and data scientists.

Must have:

1+ years software development experience (Python, C++, Java etc.)
1+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
1+ years experience building distributed systems/infrastructure
Develop large-scale data pipelines
Build ML performance evaluation/visualization systems

Good to have:

Machine learning theory and algorithms experience
Back-end development in C++ or Python
Data science/analytics background

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
1 year of experience building and developing infrastructure or distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with machine learning theory and algorithms.
Experience with back-end development in C++ or Python.
Background in data science/analytics.
