Job Description

Google is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Performance and Thermal for its Pixel team. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining thermal software components for Pixel phones and tablets, collaborating on thermal management solutions, conducting performance testing and analysis, and automating testing processes. The ideal candidate possesses strong C/C++ skills, experience with embedded OS, data structures and algorithms, and a passion for optimizing system performance. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and contributing to continuous software improvement within Google's fast-paced environment. The position contributes directly to enhancing the thermal management and overall performance of Google's Pixel devices.

Must have:

C/C++ programming
Embedded OS experience
Data structures & algorithms
Thermal management
Performance testing & analysis

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in CS
Performance analysis tools
Debugging skills
Software test engineering
Accessible tech experience

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in C or C++ programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
2 years of experience with performance, systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
Experience in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Develop and maintain tools and scripts to automate thermal testing and analysis.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development processes.
