Job Description

Facebook is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and manage a team responsible for delivering on multiple product projects. As a leader, you will be responsible for defining and influencing strategy, driving roadmap creation and execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and measuring the impact of your team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, proven people management experience, and a passion for building innovative web-based software solutions.

Must have:

5+ years of software engineering experience
5+ years of coding experience in C++, Java, Python, or PHP
Experience building holistic web-based software solutions
Experience with API design and server-client interactions
Demonstrated experience in recruiting and managing technical teams
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Software Engineering Manager, Product Responsibilities

Be both highly technical and an effective people manager

Be a subject matter expert in a product domain

Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area

Work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy

Drive roadmap creation and execution

Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level

Participate in technical design

Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals

Work effectively with cross functional partners and stakeholders to set and achieve optimal outcomes

Partner with leadership to influence and drive org design, contribution and prioritization

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management building holistic web based software solution, API design, and interactions between servers and clients

5+ years experience coding in one of the following languages: C++, Java, Python and/or PHP

Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management

BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 4+ years work experience)

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
