Job Description

The Software QA Engineer will be responsible for designing and executing manual test cases for new features of Fusion electronics, identifying and documenting defects, and creating test designs for new features. They will collaborate with software developers to troubleshoot issues, communicate with stakeholders, and test workflows for interoperability. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least one year of software testing or EDA/PCB design experience. The candidate should be fluent in English and passionate about improving product quality. They will be working in a collaborative environment with passionate colleagues.
Must have:

  • Solid domain knowledge in PCB design.
  • Fluency in English.
Good to have:
  • Experience in Eagle, Altium Design, Cadence, or other PCB/Electronics Design software.
  • Experience in Allegro or other Library Design software.
  • PCB design and manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in Fusion or other 3D Design software.
  • Experience in automation, performance, or security testing.

Fusion is the first 3D CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB tool of its kind, unifying design, engineering, electronics, and manufacturing into one cloud-based platform. We are seeking a talented Software QA Engineer to join the Fusion Electronics team in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Electronics form the foundation of Mechatronics design for Autodesk Fusion. The Fusion Electronics workspace enhances Fusion's capabilities to create Mechatronics designs, thereby improving users' experience. If you thrive on facing new challenges, you will enjoy working in our collaborative environment with passionate and inspiring colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute detailed manual test cases for new features of Fusion electronics
  • Identify, document and prioritize defects with clear steps
  • Create test design and cases for new features base on the product design
  • Contribute to regression testing of end-to-end workflows
  • Collaborate with software developers to troubleshoot issues related to electronics design modules
  • Communicate with stakeholders and teams about test strategies, test planning, status and risks
  • Collaborate with the extended team of software engineers, product designers and quality assurance engineers across worldwide teams
  • Test workflows and user experience for tools' interoperability

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronic Engineering, Electrical or Automation relate field
  • 1+ years of software testing experience or EDA/PCB design experience or internships related to the field
  • Solid domain knowledge in PCB design and Electronics design
  • Embrace changes and can work under pressure.
  • Fluency Oral & Written English
  • Passion to improve product quality
  • Understand the software QA methodologies and software development process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Eagle, Altium Design, Cadence or other PCB/Electronics Design software
  • Experience in Allegro or other Library Design software
  • PCB design and manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Experience in Fusion or other 3D Design software
  • Experience in automation testing, performance testing or security testing

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $56 000 and $77 000. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
