Job Description

As a Solutions Engineer – SDK & API at Litmus Automation, you will be crucial in developing and maintaining the Software Development Kit (SDK) across different programming languages and versions of Litmus Edge. Your responsibilities include ensuring seamless integration with new features, maintaining backward compatibility, and providing robust support for developers using our SDK. You'll work with engineering, product, and customer success teams to improve the SDK's capabilities and drive its adoption. You will maintain and enhance the Software Development Kit (SDK) for Litmus Edge, provide Long-Term Support (LTS) and manage versioning, expand SDK coverage to additional languages, and develop new abstractions and use cases.
Must have:
  • Maintain SDK for Litmus Edge, ensuring compatibility.
  • Provide Long-Term Support and manage versioning.
  • Experience with API development and SDKs.
  • Proficient in Python programming language.
Good to have:
  • Experience in GoLang, JavaScript, and Java.
  • Experience with IIoT communication protocols.
  • Basic familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.

As a Solutions Engineer – SDK & API at Litmus Automation, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of the Software Development Kit (SDK) across multiple programming languages and versions of Litmus Edge. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration with new features, maintaining backward compatibility, and providing robust support for developers leveraging our SDK. 

This role requires a strong foundation in software development, API design, and industrial IoT integrations, along with the ability to engage with developer communities to resolve issues and improve the SDK’s usability. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams to enhance the SDK’s capabilities and drive adoption. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities 

SDK Development & Maintenance 

  • Maintain and enhance the Software Development Kit (SDK) for Litmus Edge, ensuring compatibility with new platform features and updates. 
  • Provide Long-Term Support (LTS) and manage versioning for each supported programming language. 
  • Expand SDK coverage to additional languages, including GoLang, JavaScript, and Java, ensuring ease of use and efficiency. 
  • Develop new abstractions and use cases to improve SDK extensibility and flexibility for developers. 

Developer Support & Community Engagement 

  • Monitor and respond to GitHub issues and bug reports from public SDK repositories, addressing developer concerns effectively. 
  • Collaborate with open-source contributors and enterprise customers to incorporate feature requests and improvements. 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, tutorials, and sample projects to help developers integrate Litmus Edge SDK seamlessly. 

Testing & Quality Assurance 

  • Maintain and expand automated test suites to ensure SDK reliability and expected behavior across multiple platforms. 
  • Implement continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes for SDK releases, ensuring smooth updates and backward compatibility. 
  • Conduct code reviews and performance optimizations to enhance SDK efficiency and stability. 

Innovation & Expansion 

  • Research and implement best practices in SDK development, ensuring high performance, security, and usability. 
  • Explore new developer tooling, libraries, and frameworks that can improve SDK design and developer experience. 
  • Collaborate with the core engineering team to align SDK improvements with the overall Litmus Edge roadmap. 

Ideal Candidate Profile 

Technical Skills 

  • Proficient in Python programming language. 
  • Experience in multiple programming languages, including  GoLang, JavaScript, and Java. 
  • Experience with API development and SDKs, particularly in  industrial IoT, edge computing, or cloud environments. 
  • Strong knowledge of GitHub workflows and actions, version control, and open-source contribution best practices. 
  • Experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs. Familiarity with other IIoT communication protocols is a plus. 
  • Basic familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications. 

Soft Skills & Experience 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. 
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of SDK development and maintenance. 
  • Experience working with developer communities 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and developer support.
