We are looking for professionals who can conduct assessments, design appraisal work, and/or troubleshoot problems to offer solutions to internal/external clients within defined parameters.

The role
- Perform assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research, or development work within agreed parameters, including budget constraints and contractual requirements.
- Undertake design appraisal and statutory review activities within agreed parameters, including budget constraints and contractual requirements.
- Conduct activities in compliance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
- Suggest improvements to service delivery effectiveness by changing processes or work scope to reduce appraisal effort where applicable.
- Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues as agreed with the line manager.
- Assess and recommend the time and value of work to be undertaken for internal or external clients within an agreed fee and cost structure.
- Undertake administrative tasks as required, following current processes and procedures.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high level of discipline, knowledge, and awareness.
- Assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal and external client feedback as appropriate.
What You Bring
- A degree or equivalent in engineering or physical science from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd's Register (minimum of two years program), or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer or engineer.
- Proficiency in the English language appropriate to the work.
- Understanding and experience of working with Statutory activities.
- Experience in design appraisal work and statutory activities, with a particular focus on MARPOL
- Good understanding of the maritime industry.
- Strong technical background in a related industry (preferred).
- Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure.
- Proactive problem solver with a flexible attitude and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Energetic, responsive team player with an interest in safety and a willingness to take initiative.
- Experience and ability to work with people from different nationalities and cultures.
