About Us:

Sleeper is a rapidly expanding platform for fantasy sports and games, revolutionizing the way sports fans connect and engage. Though once only an NFL fantasy football company, we have continued to expand our offerings over 10+ years of operation with NBA, LCS, and soccer. In Sleeper Picks, our real-money Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) game, users predict player performance against projections provided by third-party vendors. We are at the forefront of innovation in the sports gaming industry, backed by some of Silicon Valley's top investors.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Sportsbook Product Compliance Specialist to play a key role in helping build, launch, and operate a sportbook and fantasy platform.  This person will work alongside the engineering team and liaison with industry regulators to ensure compliance across Sleeper's products and operations. Responsibilities include ensuring products are built in compliance with current regulations, managing testing labs and product audits/testing, staying updated on regulatory developments, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain a compliant platform. The role also involves helping draft and ensure compliance with internal controls, supporting engineering in regulatory adherence, addressing compliance inquiries, and creating technical documentation. Candidates should have extensive experience in online sports betting, a strong technical and/or product compliance background, and the ability to work across teams and manage regulatory communications effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Sleeper Technical Compliance team, acting as the main liaison between Sleeper and regulatory bodies on legal and compliance matters.

  • Manage interactions with independent and government testing labs, overseeing recertifications and audits.

  • Stay informed on regulatory trends and changes to federal, state, and industry laws that could impact Sleeper’s operations and product offerings.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to build, maintain, and improve Sleeper’s technical compliance program, including change management policies.

  • Review and establish internal controls for gaming and related activities.

  • Provide compliance support, training, and recommendations to Sleeper’s leadership and partners.

  • Work with engineering teams to ensure products meet regulatory standards.

  • Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures and address compliance issues with stakeholders as needed.

  • Handle regulatory inquiries, customer complaints, and disciplinary actions, coordinating with internal teams for thorough and timely responses.

  • Skilled in analysis, critical thinking, and communication, with experience working across teams and functions.

  • Familiar with gaming industry regulations and able to support testing lab requirements.

  • Technical knowledge of sports betting and iGaming systems.

  • Comfortable managing change requests and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with developers, engineers, vendors, senior management, and regulators.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in launching online sports betting platforms.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay based on experience

  • A small, impactful team environment where you can truly make a difference.

  • The opportunity to be at the forefront of transforming the sports betting and DFS landscape.

  • Support for professional growth with a company backed by leading investors.
