Job Description

This role involves optimizing a large-scale SQL database used for electric motor design and optimization. Responsibilities include improving data retrieval speed, refining motor selection procedures using big data, collaborating with engineers and developers, and optimizing an advanced job scheduling framework. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL Server, database design, query optimization, and experience working with large datasets. Strong MATLAB skills and excellent communication are essential.

What to Expect

Optimizing automotive systems is critical to making electric vehicles accessible to a broader audience. As a SQL Database Optimization Engineer in our Electric Motor design and optimization group based in South EU, you will play a key role in advancing the efficiency of our powertrain systems. In this position, you will optimize our large-scale SQL database to ensure quick, data-driven decisions in motor and powertrain development. You will also further optimize an advanced job scheduling framework centered around an SQL database. You may also develop and optimize tools that enhance the team’s core operations while analyzing extensive simulation data.

What You’ll Do

Provide technical leadership in database design and maintaining, ensuring the integrity, reliability & ease/speed of access of data
Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and performance tuning to improve data retrieval, processing speed, and overall system efficiency
Collaborate with motor designers, test engineers, and software developers to translate powertrain design requirements into data-driven tools
Refine and scale motor selection procedures, leveraging big-data trends to identify optimum powertrain configurations

What You’ll Bring

Studies in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
At least 2 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server, including database design, query optimization, and managing large datasets
Experience with database performance tuning, including analyzing execution plans, query optimization, indexing strategies, stored procedures and partitioning
Solid understanding of SQL database architecture, normalization, and performance optimization
Very strong skills in MATLAB
Demonstrated interest in software design and data-driven decision-making in the technical field
Excellent communication skills: accurate, methodic, succinct, to the point
Ability to work in a multinational and cultural environment
Fluent in English
