Summary

The Sr. Accountant, Costing at Enphase Energy is responsible for all inventory and cost accounting, including inventory cost analysis, monthly financial close, maintaining a strong internal control environment, and ensuring the accuracy of physical inventory. This role requires excellent analytical skills, ERP system proficiency (Oracle or SAP preferred), advanced Excel skills, and experience in inventory management. Key responsibilities include ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of month-end close activities, preparing and analyzing inventory reserves and adjustments, collaborating with cross-functional teams on process and system updates, participating in year-end physical inventory and cycle counts, and providing ad-hoc reporting and analytical support. The ideal candidate will possess a CMA/CA/CPA qualification (min. 4 years experience) or an MBA (min. 6 years experience) with a strong foundation in supply chain operations, inventory accounting, and procure-to-pay processes. A deep understanding of US GAAP and cost accounting principles is essential.

About the role
 
 
Responsible for all inventory & cost accounting, including responsibilities associated with inventory cost analysis, the monthly financial close, maintaining a strong internal control environment and maintaining the accuracy of physical inventory. This position requires excellent analytical skills, ERP system skills, advanced Excel skills, experience in inventory management, and the ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  
What you will do:
 
  
      • Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of month-end close activities for inventory and all COGS transactions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll forwards along with required SOX documentation. 
      • Preparation and analysis for effective understanding of inventory reserves, inventory adjustments and manual accruals for pending RGs. 
      • Working with Finance, Operations, IT and Engineering teams during design and implement process and system updates in support of new initiatives with an impact on inventory & costing. 
      • Work on year-end physical inventory and regular cycle count process with Operations team and auditors. 
      • Daily/Weekly review of production BOM cost analysis against forecasted BOM. 
      • Ad Hoc reporting and analytical support for Operations and Finance teams. 
  
Who you are and what you bring:
 
    • Qualified CMA/CA/CPA with min 4 years of experience OR MBA from reputed university with min 6 years in Inventory accounting and Cost accounting. 
    • Solid accounting and finance foundation surrounding supply chain operations, inventory accounting and procure-to-pay process. 
    • Previous Oracle or SAP or any standard ERP experience is required. 
    • Advanced Excel skills are required. 
    • Strong communicator, analytical mind and always thinking of ways to streamline and improve processes. 
    • Knowledge of Cost accounting and detailed understanding of US GAAP. 
    • Strong personal integrity and highest ethical standards.
