The role requires driving operational excellence, leveraging metrics, and leading a high-performing team to support scalability and growth. Collaboration with various teams and vendor management are also key aspects.

General Purpose: 

We are seeking a seasoned metrics-driven Sr. Director of IT eCommerce Technology & Operations to lead performance, development, and service dependencies for Corsair’s global eCommerce platforms, including Fanatec, Elgato, Scuf Gaming, Drop, and OriginPC. This role focuses on delivering scalable eCommerce solutions and supporting direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales across all brands.


Key responsibilities include managing the development and maintenance of our eCommerce tech stack, ensuring seamless integration with our ERP and backend systems, and optimizing Shopify-based platforms. Expertise in eCommerce web development, PWA framework, and Shopify operations is essential. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in eCommerce environments and a strong ability to collaborate with Marketing and Growth teams to drive results.

 

Position Summary, Responsibilities, and Expectations:
• E-commerce Platform Oversight:
Lead the management and continuous improvement of Corsair’s Shopify-based eCommerce platform to deliver an exceptional online shopping experience and drive sales growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage service dependencies, including third-party integrations, payment gateways, and logistics solutions.


• Operational Excellence:
Must be extremely metrics and KPI driven, to drive accountability and operational excellence. Adopting the mantra of “continuous improvement”, drive performance optimization across the eCommerce platform to align with business goals for Corsair and its brands. Build and lead a high-performing team, championing operational excellence to support scalability, regional expansion, and product growth. Strongly leverage metrics and KPIs to monitor site performance, identify trends, and guide iterative improvements in user engagement, conversion, and sales.

• Web Development:
Oversee Shopify-related development efforts, including implementing user-friendly features, optimizing performance, and maintaining platform stability. Manage and prioritize development roadmaps, ensuring innovative features, enhanced user experiences, and timely issue resolution.


• Team Leadership:
Support and mentor the web team to foster innovation, maintain high performance standards, and achieve project goals effectively. Must be a strong team player, exuding servant leadership and enabling the CIO’s vision in alignment with Corsair’s business objectives.


• Strategic Planning & Implementation:
Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with Corsair’s business objectives and the unique needs of its brands. Leverage Shopify’s capabilities to enhance competitiveness, ensure operational consistency, and support tailored strategies for each brand. Collaborate with IT, marketing, product, and customer service teams to maintain a cohesive eCommerce strategy.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with Operations, Marketing, Branding, and other teams focused on user experience to understand business requirements, align technology initiatives with organizational goals, and successfully execute strategic projects.


• Vendor Management:
Oversee relationships with external technology vendors and service providers, ensuring effective collaboration and high-quality delivery of Shopify-related solutions. Must ensure effective utilization of tech stack components and driving associated cost optimization efficiencies.

Essential Skills and Experience:


• 7–10+ years of experience managing eCommerce platforms, including site performance, development, and third-party integrations, across multiple brands or business units. PWA framework with Shopify experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong proficiency in eCommerce technologies, agile development methodologies, and tools such as Jira, Asana, or similar project management software.
• Must be metrics driven. Strong experience developing metrics and KPIs and continuously improving TCO. Proven track record of improving site performance, including load times, conversion rates, and user experience for desktop and mobile platforms.
• Strong familiarity with CDP, CEP, PIM, Search Engine, DAM, CMS, CDN and other eCommerce related technologies.
• Strong data analysis skills to guide decision-making and optimize eCommerce performance using analytics platforms.
• Expertise in managing third-party service dependencies, including CRM, payment processors, and supply chain solutions.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor talent, and build consensus across departments to deliver results.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong background in leading e-commerce initiatives, with hands-on experience in managing web front-end teams and driving development efforts, particularly in Shopify-based environments.
• Experience working closely with Marketing or Growth departments in an e-commerce company, with a deep understanding of how IT can support business objectives in these areas.
• Strong technical expertise in e-commerce development, with proficiency in modern web development frameworks.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with robust problem-solving abilities, a results-oriented mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in Milpitas, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  

Annual Salary Range $200,000—$250,000 USD
