Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Sr. Network Engineer (multiple openings) in Ashburn, VA to

  • Responsible for the strategy, architecture, design, support, availability, and reliability of Visa's credit and debit commercial networks (I.e., VisaNet), the enterprise corporate network, the global wide area network, the extranet/Internet networks, and the voice network.
  • Responsible for developing automation on various network platforms and test tools to drive testing efficiency, consistency and depth.
  • Review comprehensive test plans based on network designs and test requirements and automate the testing processes and produce associated documentation.
  • Execute the testing manually to develop a deeper understanding of the technology and processes.
  • Interact with different network devices and test tools to develop the required automation.
  • Serve as a technical specialist who works independently and as a member of a team, only requiring guidance in complex situations.
  • Position reports to the Ashburn, VA office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer and Information Technology, Telcommunication Networks, or related technical field.

Experience must include:

  • Cisco and Arista routing and switching platforms.
  • TCP/IP and routing protocols, including MPLS, BGP4, OSPF, and RIP.
  • EVE-NG and Cisco Modeling Lab (CML) tool.
  • Software development methodologies.
  • Python, Java or other programming language.
  • Linux hands on experience.
  • Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function.
  • Virtualization (NFV) and its application in Data Center and WAN design.

Experience in the skills can be obtained via work experience and/or academic coursework.

 

Additional Information

Worksite: Ashburn, VA

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $118,539.00 USD to $158,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position is eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Program, FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time off and Wellness Programs.
