Job Description

As a Senior Product Manager at MyFitnessPal, you will be responsible for onboarding, engaging, delighting, and retaining users. You will define product roadmap strategy, balancing consumer and business needs. This involves translating complex problems into experimentation roadmaps, building new products, applying industry best practices, and serving as a thought leader within the product team. You will lead cross-functional squads, champion the product operating model, and ensure alignment across the platform. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, along with a passion for health and fitness and experience with large-scale mobile consumer products. You will interact with customers and partners, collecting feedback and building relationships. Accountability for the performance of your squad's product experiences and effective prioritization to meet goals are essential.

As Senior Product Manager at MyFitnessPal, your job will be to onboard, engage, delight and retain our users. It will be up to you to come up with the strategy to ensure we’re delivering best-in-class nutrition guidance, creating innovative features our users are excited to use, and helping users define their goals and understand how to use MyFitnessPal achieve them.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist in defining our product roadmap strategy balancing both consumer needs and business needs and leveraging market and data analysis
  • Take complex problems and distill them into an experimentation roadmap to measure and prove or disprove hypothesis that will be the foundation of larger investments
  • Build 0 to 1 products with a cross-platform team
  • Apply industry best practices to deliver high-quality products
  • Serve as a thought leader for the rest of MFP’s product team. Help incorporate our product strategy into our broader product vision, and ensure alignment across our platform
  • Lead a cross-functional squad to define a product strategy and roadmap that solves customer problems and achieves business objectives
  • Champion the product operating model by using a variety of qualitative and quantitative tools to discover solutions that are valuable for customers and the business and delivering high quality products to achieve goals
  • Be accountable for the performance of your squad’s product experiences and prioritize effectively to meet or exceed goals
  • Interact with customers and partners to collect feedback and build relationships

Qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years experience as a PM or Senior PM, with a clear record of successful delivery and impact in collaboration with an engineering team
  • Product management experience for a mobile digital consumer product at large scale
  • Very strong critical thinking and analysis skills. Ability to take an ambiguous problem, use data-informed brainstorming, identify goals and clear metrics, and drive a team to deliver on those goals
  • Good user instincts - experience working with design, user research, running experiments, and iterating on ideas to benefit end users.  Some experience with direct-to-consumer products is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure stakeholder alignment and define and share strategy
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum environment
  • Passion for helping millions of people achieve their health and fitness goals
  • Deep understanding of consumer mobile apps with large scale audiences

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $150,000 - $190,000. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
