Job Description

As a Sr. Software Engineer on the Game QA Engineering team at Fortis Games, you will spearhead initiatives to accelerate QA and Product teams, ensuring confidence in their work. You will determine the optimal technologies and design scalable solutions for a comprehensive quality coverage strategy, tracking performance metrics. You will participate in regular feedback cycles and leverage your expertise to lead other engineers. The role involves defining the architecture and leading the implementation of the game test automation framework, integrating solutions into development processes, implementing tools for enhanced efficiency, and establishing best practices. You will also define the overall Fortis QA advanced test strategy.
Must have:
  • Experience in C# or Python programming
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud services
  • Experience with CI/CD workflows
  • Experience in building automation frameworks for games
  • Ability to work with multiple teams and ensure delivery
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Unity and Unity tooling
  • Experience working on internal tools or DevOps

About the role

As a Sr. Software Engineer on the Game QA Engineering team, you will drive initiatives that enable our QA and Product teams to move faster and with greater confidence. You’ll determine the right technologies and architect scalable solutions that contribute to a comprehensive quality coverage strategy and track against key performance metrics. You’ll engage in a regular feedback cycle to ensure we’re building what the team really needs.  You will leverage your expertise to lead other engineers tasked with tackling larger project demands.

What you’ll achieve

  • Define the architecture and lead the implementation for the game test automation framework, partnering with QA and Dev leaders in defining requirements as the project evolves
  • Integrate solutions with ongoing quality efforts throughout the development process, including build pipelines, performance metrics, and other internal tooling
  • Implement tools that enhance efficiency and productivity for QA and Development operations
  • Establish implementation best practices for the team, ensuring code is optimized for performance and scalability across various environments and project demands
  • Participate in defining the overall Fortis QA advanced test strategy for all projects.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • Experience programming in C# or Python
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud services, including S3, EC2, and experience with messaging services.
  • Experience working with CI/CD workflows and platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or TeamCity.
  • Experience in building automation or development frameworks for games or mobile applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple teams, identifying project requirements, and ensuring successful delivery.
  • Leadership skills to provide direction and mentoring for junior engineers.
  • Strongly preferred: Knowledge of Unity and Unity tooling specifically for game development 
  • Strongly preferred: Experience working on internal tools or DevOps
