As a Sr. Software Engineer on the Game QA Engineering team, you will lead initiatives to improve the speed and confidence of our QA and Product teams. You will determine the appropriate technologies and design scalable solutions for comprehensive quality coverage. You will be involved in a regular feedback cycle to ensure the team's needs are met. Additionally, you will use your expertise to lead other engineers in complex projects.
Must have:
  • Experience programming in C# or Python
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud services including S3 and EC2
  • Experience with CI/CD workflows like GitHub Actions
  • Experience building automation frameworks for games
  • Ability to work with multiple teams and deliver
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Unity and Unity tooling for game development
  • Experience working on internal tools or DevOps

About the role

As a Sr. Software Engineer on the Game QA Engineering team, you will drive initiatives that enable our QA and Product teams to move faster and with greater confidence. You’ll determine the right technologies and architect scalable solutions that contribute to a comprehensive quality coverage strategy and track against key performance metrics. You’ll engage in a regular feedback cycle to ensure we’re building what the team really needs.  You will leverage your expertise to lead other engineers tasked with tackling larger project demands.

What you’ll achieve

  • Define the architecture and lead the implementation for the game test automation framework, partnering with QA and Dev leaders in defining requirements as the project evolves
  • Integrate solutions with ongoing quality efforts throughout the development process, including build pipelines, performance metrics, and other internal tooling
  • Implement tools that enhance efficiency and productivity for QA and Development operations
  • Establish implementation best practices for the team, ensuring code is optimized for performance and scalability across various environments and project demands
  • Participate in defining the overall Fortis QA advanced test strategy for all projects.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • Experience programming in C# or Python
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud services, including S3, EC2, and experience with messaging services.
  • Experience working with CI/CD workflows and platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or TeamCity.
  • Experience in building automation or development frameworks for games or mobile applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple teams, identifying project requirements, and ensuring successful delivery.
  • Leadership skills to provide direction and mentoring for junior engineers.
  • Strongly preferred: Knowledge of Unity and Unity tooling specifically for game development 
  • Strongly preferred: Experience working on internal tools or DevOps
