As a Senior UX Writer at Nintendo of America, you'll craft clear, concise UI text for customer experiences across multiple channels. You'll also build and maintain a UX writing foundation, lead junior writers, and collaborate with stakeholders. Experience with UX writing, content strategy, and working in a complex tech organization is essential. Knowledge of the video game industry is preferred. This is a hybrid role in Redmond, WA.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
  • Use writing and content design skills to craft clear, concise UI text for the customer experience across multiple channels.
  • Drives content strategy that ensures accessibility and consistency across channels and languages while accelerating the timeline of deliverables to developers and vendors 
  • Own and manage UX content documentation.
  • Anticipate user needs based on objectives and explore innovative solutions to address issues through content, images, multi-media assets, using empathy, logic, and data.
  • Champion brand standards for voice and tone across all UX content
  • Sets standards and drive adherence to UX writing and accessibility best practices. Build and maintain a UX writing foundation by creating style guides, writing processes, collaborative guidelines, and content lifecycle management procedures.
  • Leads and drives the adoption of UX writing tools, technologies, and frameworks including content research and metrics.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to junior writers and act as a subject matter expert for UX writing.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with business stakeholders to ensure a balance between compliance and user experience.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in UX writing, editorial, marketing, copy writing, or related, as well as leading content strategy projects in an agency or consumer brand setting.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience interacting with cross-functional business leadership
  • 3 - 5 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional technology organization
  • Experience in UX-focused navigation and communication writing and shaping content for multi-channel projects.
  • Experience developing information architecture for complex documentation sets or product suites, including localization and accessibility best practices.
  • Expertise in SEO and WCAG Accessibility standards
  • Working knowledge of the design process and general UX design principles
  • Experience using and managing content management tools 
  • Proven ability to present to all levels within an organization, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with large, well-known consumer brands and/or agency is a plus 
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the video game industry (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Communication, Literature, a related field, or equivalent practical experience

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
 
 
This position includes a base salary range of $102,500 - $164,000 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off. Please see our  for more benefits information.
