What Will You Do: You will be part of a highly skilled distributed team that takes care of the data enrichment platform responsible for data enrichment pipelines and for supporting streaming use cases for clients and search partners. The team primarily involves generating large-scale datasets for exporting to internal and external consumers. The team is also responsible for next-gen real-time streaming rule-processing data enrichment platform based on Apache Kafka Streams. Key Responsibilities: o Design, develop, document, and architect Kafka Streams applications working with product owners, developers, devops and QA applying an end-to-end quality mindset to ensure the highest degree of stability and performance. o Design, develop, and manage Kafka-based data pipelines Required Skills: o 8+ years of Scala/Java Development experience with/Kafka streams & Apache Kafka ecosystem o 2+ years of past experiences with streaming platforms with spark/scala/kafka. o Exposure to any Nosql Database o Good knowledge of multi-threading and concurrency o Exceptional experience working within cloud technologies such as AWS o Ability to work with huge volumes of data so as to derive Business Intelligence o In-depth knowledge of database principles, structures, practices, and theories o Ability to Drive Technical Stories and drive team to successful Deliveries. Desired Skills: o Experience working with large-scale datasets. o Strong understanding of messaging paradigms, event-driven architectures, and microservices. o Experience with distributed computing, parallel processing, and cluster management. o Understanding of Python or other scripting languages is a plus. o A drive and ability to succeed and push others to success. o Strong experience mentoring others on a quality mindset and approach o Desire to grow and take ownership of work o Aren't afraid to take on less glamorous work if it helps the team accomplish their mission o Experience with Agile or Kanban / Lean software development methodologies o Why join Bazaarvoice?
