Staff Product Designer

The opportunity

Unity is looking for an experienced product designer to help define, envision and bring to market new interactive 3D products, tools and technologies for consumers. Working directly with product management, design and engineering leaders within Unity, this person will play a key role in enabling the next generation of creators to build powerful, interactive, real-time 3D experiences. with new, innovative and accessible tools.

The right candidate will combine outstanding design ability with a natural curiosity for technology, and a passion for empowering creativity with it. In addition to helping establish our product vision, you will work to clarify and champion value for our users, engender alignment and consistency between products, and exemplify the highest standards of inclusive design on your way to delivering innovative solutions to millions of Unity creators worldwide.

What you’ll be doing

• Define, envision and bring to market new interactive 3D products, tools, and technologies for consumers.
• Build powerful, interactive, real-time 3D experiences. Collaborate with product, design, UX research, and engineering leads to develop and refine product strategy.
• Drive the establishment of clear design goals. Communicate product vision to internal and external partners.
• Conduct design reviews with senior leadership to ensure project goals are met.
• Lead design conversations within the team to resolve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions. Maintain consistency and coherence across various products.

What we’re looking for

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Animation or a related field, and two (2) years of related work experience.
• Must have two (2) years of experience with/in: Product design portfolio showing project development from concept to completion; Applying user-centric approach; Crafting consumer or professional products for multiple platforms including mobile and PC; Consumer or tooling product design in AR/VR or 3D; Creating sketches, storyboards, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity comps; and XR development with varying target devices from mobile AR to head mounted displays.

• 40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. $214,000 - $224,000/yr.
• Telecommuting permitted up to two (2) days per week.
