We're hiring a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Cloud Platform and Architecture organization. You will develop tools and automate solutions to manage the large-scale distributed infrastructure of the Zscaler cloud platform. This is a hybrid role going into our San Jose, CA office 3 days a week. Reporting to the Director, Site Reliability Engineering, you will:

• Manage and maintain large-scale distributed systems using an infrastructure-as-code approach
• Develop and enhance tools to automate the deployment and management of large-scale services, focusing on reliable system architecture and maintaining high code quality
• Diagnose and resolve issues by editing code, adjusting infrastructure configurations, conducting performance and network analysis, and creating reusable tools
• Develop automation solutions and manage services efficiently using version-controlled infrastructure-as-code
• Support mission critical services and participate in on-call rotations as needed

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• 5+ years of experience in SRE roles supporting mission-critical production systems
• Skilled in programming languages such as Python, Golang, Java, or Rust
• Familiarity with standard Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC)
• Expertise in SRE methodologies, tools, and best practices

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience
• Proficiency in managing large-scale distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and applying infrastructure-as-code principles
