Job Description

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google Cloud's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. You will anticipate our customer needs and be empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. You will provide technical leadership and project direction to a team of SWEs, inspiring innovation and the development of advanced capabilities for GDC-Connected. Advocate for engineering, operational and project execution excellence, ensuring efficient and effective delivery. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development through technical mentorship and coaching. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and program management to deliver high-quality solutions within established timelines. Establish strategic partnerships with stakeholders to define a long-term product vision and technology roadmap.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience in software development
5 years of experience testing and launching software products
3 years of experience with software design and architecture
Experience in Kubernetes

Good to have:

Experience working with Kubernetes and public cloud infrastructure (GCP)
Experience contributing to open source projects or working with an open source community
Knowledge of building large systems
Ability to navigate open-ended technical challenges, and make proper trade-offs

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development and with data structures/algorithms.
5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Experience in Kubernetes.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience working with Kubernetes and public cloud infrastructure (GCP).
Experience contributing to open source projects or working with an open source community.
Knowledge of building large systems.
Ability to navigate open-ended technical challenges, and make proper trade-offs.
