Job Description

The Staff Supply Chain Security Engineer is responsible for leading supply chain risk management activities to ensure the cybersecurity of third-party components. They will work closely with engineering teams. Responsibilities include evaluating compliance of third-party solutions, maintaining an inventory of components, and ensuring suppliers implement appropriate cybersecurity controls. The role also involves developing and supporting processes for supplier compliance and managing related action plans to reduce associated risks.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of compliance assessment experience.
  • 2+ years of cybersecurity-related compliance experience.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience with cyber security assessment.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of cyber regulations and standards (e.g., EU Cyber Resilience Act, IEC 62443).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Summary:

The Staff Supply Chain Security Engineer is responsible for leading supply chain risk management activities to ensure the cybersecurity of third-party components, products, and systems integrated into Wabtec offerings. They will work closely with engineering teams in the selection, qualification, and ongoing monitoring processes.
 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

  •  Minimum of 5 years of experience performing compliance assessments (e.g Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Risk Management, etc.)

  •  Minimum of 2 years of experience in cybersecurity-related compliance.

  •  Demonstrated knowledge in following product cybersecurity areas: Secure Development Lifecycle process, Secure Supply Chain Risk Management, Cybersecurity technical best practices, Vulnerability Management, Incident Management.

  •  Extensive hands-on experience with technical and process cyber security assessment including supplier management.

  • Knowledge of cyber regulations and standards, such as EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), IEC 62443-4-1, and IEC 62443-4-2.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, working with various stakeholders in a global organization.

  • Fluent in English, with ability to communicate through verbal and written means of communication.  

Responsibilities:

This position requires extensive knowledge and experience with cybersecurity compliance management and supply chain risk management. Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Lead the supply chain risk management activities targeting suppliers of components, products, and systems integrated into Wabtec offerings, including:

    • Suppliers of custom-developed digital components

    • Suppliers of commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS) digital components

  • Evaluate the compliance of third-party solutions to Wabtec’s Secure Product Development Life Cycle policies and procedures.

  • Maintain an inventory of Wabtec third-party components, products, and systems, and manage related action plans to reduce risk associated with them.

  • Develop and support processes to ensure Wabtec component, product, and system suppliers implement appropriate cybersecurity controls, features, and requirements per applicable customer requirements, recognized industry standards, applicable regulations, and engineering best practices.


You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary
