Reporting to the Head of Story, the artist will meet the aesthetic, creative, and technical quality stands of the production and in accordance with the production deadlines.   


What you will be doing:

  • Storyboard the script as written ensuring that alternate suggestions have received prior approval from the Director before implementing any alternate ideas while also implementing director notes and revisions
  • Craft engaging and innovative storytelling that aligns with the project's established creative style and technical standards
  • Follow the guidelines and instructions provided by the Director and those established from previously completed episodes
  • Attend hand-out meetings with the Director, ensuring access to sufficient instructions and materials for your assignment
  • Create storyboards based on the provided script, ensuring that any alternative suggestions have obtained prior approval from the Director before implementation. Additionally, incorporate director notes and revisions into the storyboarding process
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate across teams
  • Ensure alignment with project leads for technical and aesthetic goals 
  • Meet and maintain project deadlines consistently 
  • Support and mentor junior artists, offering guidance and instruction 

What you bring:

  • [Senior] 4+ years of relevant experience as a storyboard artist in the animation/VFX industry 
  • [Mid] 2+ years of relevant experience as a storyboard artist in the animation/VFX industry 
  • Strong drawing skills and sense of design, character, and composition 
  • Familiar with and have experience with 2D or 3D Animation pipelines 
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills 
  • Excellent visual skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to receive creative direction and feedback 
  • Be willing to share knowledge and experience with others 

Salary Range $1300 - $1800 CAD Weekly The Salary Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.
