Job Description

As the Strategic Agency Manager, you will leverage your executive influencing skills to partner with performance media agencies in the German market. You'll focus on C-level stakeholder relationships and co-create business growth strategies, identifying and executing opportunities for growth. This role involves increasing digital capabilities and strengthening long-term commercial growth partnerships within GCS agencies, driving scalable business growth and product adoption. You will drive alignment on strategic resource allocation, collaborating with client strategists and product specialists. Responsibilities include owning a portfolio of agencies, delivering against quarterly objectives, growing agency business via product adoption, managing agency relationships at all levels, and shaping the agency program through strategic initiatives and planning. The position requires fluent English and German communication.
Must have:
  • 5+ years experience in digital marketing/advertising
  • C-level executive relationship experience
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Sales and pitching experience
  • Business development and partnership management

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or account management, in the Digital Marketing/Advertising industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience working in sales and pitching to clients.
  • Ability to communicate in English and German fluently to support client engagements.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing complex partnerships.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Experience assessing and achieving client success via sales techniques, including effective questioning, objection handling, compelling narratives, storytelling and engaged promotions.
  • Knowledge of agency business models, customer retention, growth and new business acquisition for agencies.
  • Ability to own a portfolio in a sales context, and consistently overachieve quotas to drive growth.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

In this role, you will focus on increasing digital capabilities and strengthening long-term commercial growth partnerships within our GCS agencies, driving scalable business growth and product adoption across the broader portfolio of agency-managed accounts. You will drive alignment on the allocation of the strategic resources for these agencies, to fuel your growth enablement initiatives, collaborating with client strategists and product specialists to deliver mutual business growth to our agencies, their customers, and to Google.

You‘ll also develop the acquisition and promote capabilities of your assigned agencies across all levels of the organization in order to enable sustainable business growth for all parties.

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of agencies by understanding growth drivers, identifying opportunities for growth, managing risks and building multi-quarter plans for achievement.
  • Deliver against quarterly business and product objectives. Grow agency business by driving scalable product adoption and growth across a broad portfolio of Agency clients.
  • Work towards long term strategic goals on new and existing business consistently, prioritizing and delivering outstanding sales experiences to Google's agency partners.
  • Manage and strengthen primary agency relationships from C-levels all the way down, including Media Planners and Buyers.
  • Shape the agency program by being a thought partner for the Agency Lead on strategic initiatives and agency-level planning.
