Student worker, Falcon NG-SIEM, Global Serverless Platform

About the Role:

CrowdStrike is seeking a Student worker for the NG-SIEM (next generation security information and event management) Global Serverless Platform team in Aarhus, Denmark. The Global Serverless Platform team is responsible for building and operating the global- and region-level automation that will automatically manage the industry’s largest event data store and search system. Our goals are to scale to 100s of PB of data ingress per day, while maintaining best-in-class ingest, search, and detection SLAs, as well as a best-in-class cost structure. The team owns the regional control plane layer, as well as account provisioning systems and region-level integrations with the rest of the Falcon platform. The team’s vision is to build a zero-touch, highly refined, self-service model of a data plane.

You will be playing a role in ensuring that LogScale can continue with its successful durability and high availability. This role is open to candidates located in Aarhus, Denmark.

What You'll Do:

  • Work in a team of friendly, trustworthy and knowledgeable colleagues

  • Work on projects within the team

  • Participate in developing new features and contribute to moving the scalability of our LogScale fleets to the next level

  • Develop the LogScale supporting services in Go and extending our current capabilities to keep scaling our LogScale fleets with increasing ingest load while ensuring high availability and high utilization

  • Monitor and followup on features released to our clouds

  • Every day ready to learn both directly from others, and from experimenting on a codebase yourself.

What You'll Need:

  • A passion for or personal interest in distributed systems and curiosity of how our running systems are doing

  • Eager to learn something new that is probably very different from anything else you have worked with, and you find the challenge of writing software that scales across dozens of server nodes and petabytes of data fascinating.

  • Eager to learn software development in general and the ability to juggle making pragmatic tradeoffs between short-time delivery needs vs long-term product goals

  • You are not afraid to dive into a complex project, of which you will only know a small part, and solve problems, despite not understanding the whole.

  • Experienced in some software programming languages and the ability to pick up new languages on the go, we are primarily using golang.

  • A can-do attitude, and that you thrive collaborating in a team and are not afraid of taking on responsibilities

Bonus Points:

  • Experience programming in Go

  • Experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)

What You Can Expect:

  • Remote-friendly and flexible work culture

  • Market leader in compensation and equity awards

  • Paid holidays (including birthday holidays) and 401k matching (where applicable)

  • Professional development opportunities including workshops, tech talks, and Executive Speaker Series

  • Assigned mentors from across the company for continuous support and feedback

  • Participation in companywide initiatives including ERGs, FalconFIT, Wellness Programs, and Employee Assistance Program

  • Employee Resource Groups, geographic neighbourhood groups and volunteer opportunities to build connections

  • Vibrant office culture with world class amenities

  • Ownership of impactful projects that move the company forward

  • Great Place to Work Certified™ across the globe
