Le/la superviseur(e) de l'animation est responsable de la qualité globale de l'animation sur un projet particulier, et de livrer des performances cohérentes et convaincantes en accord avec la vision du directeur.


Principales responsabilités:
  • Gérer, former et encadrer une équipe d'animateurs
  • Fournir des exemples et des repères à l'équipe d'animation
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les animateurs principaux pour s'assurer que l'équipe produise une animation de haute qualité qui crée des moments captivants, racontant des histoires et pleins d'action qui s'inscrivent dans le style et le rythme du film
  • Prendre la responsabilité de la qualité du travail à travers l'équipe
  • Travailler avec le département de rigging et de pipeline pour fournir des suggestions et des commentaires afin d'améliorer la configuration des personnages, la qualité visuelle, les plates-formes et la fonctionnalité de l'outil
  • Travailler avec les animateurs principaux quotidiennement pour assurer une communication adéquate avec la production concernant les progrès de l'équipe
  • Prendre la responsabilité globale de la réunion montrant les jalons et les échéances
  • Assister aux réunions des clients et diriger les revues quotidiennes avec l'équipe d'animation
  • Continuer à se familiariser avec les nouveaux outils, logiciels, données et autres technologies connexes


Job requirements

Compétences essentielles:
  • Connaissance approfondie de Maya
  • Bonne compréhension du mouvement physique, du poids, de l'équilibre, de la texture et de la forme
  • Compréhension démontrable des plates-formes et des configurations de gréement typiques, des pipelines d'animation et du transfert de données entre les outils
  • Connaissance de l'anatomie humaine et animale ainsi que des compétences de dessin de la vie
  • Démontrer un engagement à la collaboration créative au sein d'une équipe et avec d'autres départements
  • Expérience à superviser/diriger une équipe
  • Attention aux détails et compétences en résolution de problèmes
  • Fiabilité et bonne capacité à respecter les délais
  • Excellentes compétences en organisation, communication, relations interpersonnelles et gestion
  • Faire preuve d'adaptation rapide et volonté d'apprendre de nouveaux processus et compétences techniques
  • Expérience antérieure avec les données de capture de mouvement

Key Responsibilities:

Manage, train and mentor a team of Animators
Provide examples and benchmarks for the animation team to follow
Work closely with the Animation Leads to ensure the team are producing high quality animation which creates compelling, story-driven and action packed moments that fit within the style and pacing of the film
Take responsibility for the quality of work across the team
Work with rigging and pipeline to provide suggestions and feedback in order to improve character setup, visual quality, rigs and tool functionality
Work with the Animation Leads to ensure ongoing communication with Production regarding the team's progress towards the schedule
Overall responsibility for meeting show milestones and deadlines
Attend client reviews and lead daily reviews with the animation team
Continue to become familiar with new tools, software, data and other related technologies


Essential Skills:

A Thorough knowledge of Maya
A strong grasp of physical motion, weight, balance, texture and form
A demonstrable understanding of rigs and typical rigging set-ups, animation pipelines and transferring data between tools
Knowledge of human and animal anatomy as well as life drawing skills
A demonstrable commitment to creative collaboration within a team and with other departments
Previous experience supervising/leading a team
Attention to detail and problem solving skills
Reliable, with good timekeeping and the ability to meet deadlines
Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal, and management skills
Adaptability and the willingness to learn new processes and technical skills
Previous experience working with motion capture data
