As the SVP of Business Development for EMEA, you will lead Nium's European sales team, collaborating with industry leaders in financial institutions, travel, and technology. You will be responsible for developing and implementing business development strategies, acquiring new clients, generating revenue, and motivating the team. This role involves orchestrating the growth strategy across Europe, focusing on achieving sales targets and customer satisfaction goals. The role requires building relationships with key players in banks, financial firms, marketplaces, eCommerce providers and others to generate qualified opportunities and closing the deal.
Must have:
  • 15+ years of business development experience in Payments, E-Commerce, etc.
  • Strong track record of outperforming sales targets in previous roles.
  • Ability to lead and manage high-performing sales teams in Europe.
  • Commercially focused and pragmatic with problem-solving skills.
  • Data-driven and analytical mindset to meet/exceed goals.

Leading Nium’s Europe Sales team, you’ll have the opportunity to partner with industry leaders in multiple strategic industries, including
financial institutions, travel, and technology, and be part of our team of seasoned payments experts. You’ll collaborate across functions, working with teams including account management, product, and compliance. Ultimately, our aim is to give our customers the best experience possible and provide innovative payment solutions that unlock business growth. You will be responsible for orchestrating the strategy for growth across Europe, acquiring and delivering new clients, generating revenue for Nium and motivating the business development team for Europe

Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement business development strategies to identify and pursue new enterprise opportunities across European markets.
    • Lead and manage a high-performing team of enterprise sales executives to achieve ambitious sales targets.
    • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset and the highest degree of effectiveness across Nium’s market leading propositions, such as banking, financial services, cards, e-commerce, or payments.
    • Have a constant drive to go beyond past performance and visibly demonstrate track record beating performance when it comes achieving financial targets, and ability to generate sales leads, effectively negotiate, and close transactions.
    • Generate revenue from clients, and achieve pre-agreed targets on customer flows, revenues, and profitability.
    • Demonstrate business development and consultative selling skills with results-orientation to meet/exceed assigned financial and customer satisfaction goals
    • Pro-actively hunt for opportunities in the marketplace through direct contact as well as partners. The job will involve building relationships with key players in banks, financial firms, marketplaces, eCommerce providers and others to generate qualified opportunities, mapping the account, influencing key decision-makers, convincing the client about the value proposition and closing the deal.

Requirements

    • 15+ years proven track record in business development or sales in Payments, E-Commerce, Cards, Financial Services, FinTech or Banking Go-to-Market in Europe
    • Strong track record of outperforming commercial targets in past sales roles
    • Ability to lead, motivate and manage high-performing lean sales teams in Europe
    • Commercially focused and pragmatic, able to identify opportunities and propose solutions
    • Ability to understand and tailor approach to individual customers with empathy, effectively playing the role of problem-solver for the customer
    • Data driven and analytical mindset
    • Results-oriented, client focused and obsessed with simultaneously delivering value
