Barbaricum is seeking a Systems Engineer Lead to manage complex systems and systems of systems throughout multiple phases of the product lifecycle. This includes orchestrating engineering efforts, ensuring adherence to DoD 5000 product lifecycle principles, and supporting design reviews and milestone achievements. The candidate will work closely with PMOs, government organizations, and OEMs to ensure successful development and deployment of large, complex systems.
 
The role also involves defining and verifying technical requirements, managing risks, and drafting technical plans. The candidate will effectively communicate technical information across various stakeholders and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

    • Lead systems engineering efforts across all lifecycle phases.
    • Manage complex systems, ensuring adherence to DoD 5000 principles.
    • Facilitate design reviews and milestone achievements.
    • Provide input on technical product evaluations, balancing quality, risk, cost, and schedule.
    • Establish and monitor Systems Engineering Technical Review criteria.
    • Develop contract scopes, RFPs, and CDRLs.
    • Create technical plans, including architecture, verification, validation, and deployment.
    • Collaborate with PMOs and OEMs to align technical plans with program goals.
    • Translate stakeholder inputs into technical requirements.
    • Conduct verification, validation, and risk management for systems.
    • Provide recommendations on mitigating technical risks to the PMO.

Qualifications

    • Active DoD Secret clearance required.
    • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline with 12+ years of experience; Bachelor’s degrees will be considered with commensurate additional experience. 
    • Expertise in managing complex systems and adhering to DoD 5000 lifecycle principles.
    • Strong communication and leadership skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Experience in risk management, verification, and validation techniques.
    • Proven ability to develop technical plans and translate requirements into actionable tasks.
