Job Description & Summary

We are currently in search of ambitious and committed individuals with a keen eye for detail who take pride in delivering excellence, to join our passionate and dynamic Technology team as a Systems Engineer.

This Role entails providing 2nd Line support to our clients through a ticketing system and phone support both onsite and remotely. You will be troubleshooting hardware and software issues as well as helping our client’s deliver any IT project they might embark on.

Your Mission

  • Leading operational support of IT Infrastructure and cloud technologies including Windows Servers, Linux Servers, Virtualisation platforms, Storage and Networks 
  • Collaborating with the Applications team to design the supporting environment for the solution
  • Providing technical system analysis and solutions
  • Designing, integrating and managing complex platform solutions
  • Determining the infrastructure requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements
  • Supporting and improving current systems platforms, applications and services by recommending and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the systems
  • Monitoring and management of issues/ risks and escalating appropriately
  • Preparation of documentation post project implementation

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A degree in ICT, Engineering or related field or a minimum of 4 years’ experience working in an enterprise IT environment
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently with minimum supervision, and as part of a team
  • Experience in Linux would be considered and asset 
  • Knowledge in Virtualization, Cloud, Storage and networking technologies and be capable of building enterprise architecture roadmaps
  • Knowledge of multiple operating system Windows and Linux
  • Awareness of Hybrid Integration Platforms
  • Have a good command of the English language
  • Possess a valid driving license

Beneficial to Have

  • HPE Certifications mainly Storage and Servers.
  • Microsoft Certifications mainly MCSE/MCSA and Azure 
  • VMware Certifications
  • Linux Certifications mainly Redhat or Oracle linux
  • Cisco Certifications mainly CCNA
  • Experience using Aruba networking products                                    
  • Experience with database Management systems including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
