Talend Developer
Location: Remote
Job Description
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science / information technology or its equivalent discipline
• Exposure to healthcare domain (Medicaid, Medicare, marketplace)
• Strong experience in designing and developing Business Intelligence solutions in Data Warehousing using ETL Tools.
• Good understanding of Data Migration process from Teradata to MongoDB using Talend Realtime Big Data 7.3.1
• Hands-on experience with complex mappings in Talend 7.1.1 using tMap, tJoin, tReplicate, tParallelize, tJava, tJavaFlex, tAggregateRow, tDie, tWarn, tLogCatcher, etc.
• Experience in working with Talend open source, Talend Enterprise and Talend cloud.
• Extracted data from multiple operational sources and implemented SCDs (Type 1/Type 2/ Type 3) using Talend.
• Experience in working with Agile methodology and experienced in creating user stories in JIRA, participated in daily standups and sprint retrospective and sprint planning.
• Involved in extracting user's data from various data sources into Distributed File Systems
• Experienced in creating Generic schemas and creating Context Groups and Variables to run jobs against different environments like Dev, Test and Prod.
• Extensively worked on Talend Bulk components like tMySqlBulkExec, tMysqlOutputBulk, tOracleBulkExec, tOracleOutputBulkExec for multiple data bases.
• Worked on creating AMC tables and customized logging tables for Error Handling and Logging of Talend Jobs.
• Experience in Working with multiple databases like Oracle, MongoDB, SQL server
• Thorough knowledge of addressing Performance Issues and Involved in query tuning, Index tuning, Data profiling and other database related activities.
• Experience in Data warehouse design using Star and Snowflake dimensional models.
• Experienced in creating and implementing execution plans in TAC for scheduling jobs also experienced in working with other scheduling tools like Autosys.
• Extensive work on creating and implementing Stored Procedures using Talend components like tMysqlSP.
• Well versed in writing complex queries using JOINS, Subqueries, Correlated Subqueries, PL/SQL procedures, functions, and triggers. ¬¬¬
• Experience in creating Indexes, Partitions & Materialized views to improve query performance.
• Experience in Leading a team and mentoring with technical solutions.
Good To Have
• Understanding of DataStage Jobs and need to build Talend Jobs accordingly
• Knowledge on OOPS programming (e.g., Java) – Existing teams are writing Talend jobs using Java.
• Experience on Test data management project, at the least 1 project on TDM – understanding the data requirements from teams (Dev, Test) and designing a Golden set of Records.
• Experience in testing Front-End applications.
• Experienced in ETL migration projects converting the Code from one ETL tool to another involving DWH migration at the same point.
• Ability to work independently- in tight schedule & be detail oriented.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Experiences and knowledge in Tools: Jira/Confluence.
• Willingness to flex daily work schedule to allow for time-zone differences for global team communications
