Job Description

The primary responsibility is to support all aspects of tax compliance, focusing on the timely and accurate completion of assigned tax returns and electronic filings as required by the local tax authority. This includes financial data extraction and analysis from SAP and Oracle systems, preparation and review of financial data, book-to-tax difference analysis, computing deferred tax assets/liabilities, tax research, and supporting US tax provision computations and local tax audits. The role also involves providing special project and analysis support, contributing to continuous improvement in functions and processes, and leading selected SEA statutory filings.
Must have:

General Summary:

Primary responsibility is to support all aspects of tax compliance, with a focus on the timely and accurate completion of assigned tax returns and electronic filings as required by the local tax authority and support/input for estimated tax computations, and related processes.

This includes financial data extraction, preparation, and review of financial data for assigned tax return entities, a book to tax difference analysis of financial statement expenses and income, computing deferred tax assets/liabilities, related tax research, supporting various components of the US tax provision computation, as well as local tax audits. Additionally, provide special project and analysis support to Region/Headquarter tax as needed. Support and assist in continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of functions and processes.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Extraction and analysis of data from SAP and Oracle system for the (1) preparation of Singapore corporate income tax computations and (2) IRAS tax review / audit.
  • Extraction and analysis of data from SAP and Oracle system for the (1) preparation and reconciliation of quarterly GST returns (Form F5) and (2) ASK / GST audits.
  • Independently lead selected SEA statutory filings and tax reconciliations with oversight on filing accuracy, payment schedules, and compliance deliverables.
  • Compute and file withholding tax obligations for both domestic and cross-border payments, including treaty-based relief applications.
  • Analyze book-to-tax differences and assist in the preparation of year-end tax provision packages in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP requirements, including data compilation for deferred tax schedules.
  • Conduct technical research on local and regional direct/indirect tax topics, and prepare internal memos or position papers summarizing findings, with an emphasis on audit readiness and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and regional tax teams to ensure proper tax treatment of business activities and intercompany transactions, including supporting local transfer pricing documentation.
  • Maintain internal compliance calendars, audit logs, and tax registers to track statutory deadlines, ongoing audits, and documentation status across Singapore and selected SEA entities.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement by identifying areas for enhanced compliance efficiency, standardization of documentation, and better alignment with group-level tax governance frameworks.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting;
  • Indian Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred; other professional certifications are a plus;
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience comprising of:
    • +5 years working experience on tax role / accounting role in MNC or Big 4 or Qualcomm;
  • Familiar and experienced with Oracle and SAP, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office tools;
  • Fluent at English writing and speaking;
  • Hands-on tax filing, familiar with tax filing system as a plus;
  • TP experience as a plus;

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply tax regulations, legal texts, and financial reporting standards written in English (e.g. local tax law, US GAAP, IFRS, etc.)
  • Excellent processing and transactional skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on projects simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate extensively with external accounting service providers and tax auditors

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 2+ years of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
