Tax Business Partner - Global Payments - Singapore

About the Team: The Singapore tax team is building to work with other corporate functions on tax advisory, planning, structuring, and tax controversy. We ensure compliance with direct (corporate income tax) and indirect tax (sales and use tax and property tax) and solve tax related issues. Position summary ByteDance is seeking an enthusiastic tax business partner to join the global tax team in Singapore to support its rapid business growth. The ideal candidate should encompass tax business partnering experience in the global payments and consumer finance business in Singapore, possesses strong technical skills in order to work seamlessly together with colleagues in multiple departments (e.g. Legal, Finance) to support our business teams to develop comprehensive and practical tax solutions. Experience in the taxation of the digital economy, global payment and consumer finance is highly preferred, to add valuable input across various taxes (CIT, VAT, WHT, DST) in business projects across multiple jurisdictions in a high pace environment. Responsibilities: - Provide assistance with tax-related inquiries and support the business in offering tax guidance for various product launches. - Offer tax support and expertise for ad-hoc projects or queries from business teams. - Collaborate with tax teams across different regions to ensure business operations comply with relevant tax regulations, and ensure accurate and timely completion of tax returns, tax strategy, and policies. - Stay updated on changes in tax legislation across various jurisdictions and assess their impact on the business. - Provide tax advice to the business across multiple jurisdictions in developing and executing effective and practical tax solutions.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of professional working experience in taxation, specifically within Singapore and the Southeast Asia regions. - Relevant industry experience in the global payments and consumer finance sectors is essential. - Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. - Proficient in explaining complex tax issues to non-tax professionals. Preferred Qualifications: - Prior experience in a tax business partner role is an advantage. - Experience with taxation in other regions (such as LATAM, the US, or Europe) is a plus. - Strong ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple responsibilities and maintaining high standards. - Excellent logical thinking skills and the ability to independently solve complex problems through self-learning. #LI-Hybrid
