About the Role:
We are looking for a Team Lead for the "Platform Tools" team at CleverTap, responsible for driving the design, deployment, and scaling of foundational services and libraries that are essential for other teams' operations. In this role, you will oversee the development of tools that empower various functions across the organization, ensuring they are secure and high-performing. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver platform solutions that support and enhance their efforts, while also mentoring your team to achieve excellence. Your leadership will be key in managing complex projects and fostering a collaborative, innovative environment.
What will you do?
- Design and develop core services and libraries used across the organization, including tools for engineers, PMs, QAs, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the infrastructure team to build essential platform components, such as CI/CD pipelines, metering, logging, and feature flags.
- Manage vendor relations by engaging with external vendors whose products are integrated into our systems to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, managing transitions and maintaining consistent progress across all initiatives.
- Improve productivity by identifying, scoping, and executing projects that provide effective tools and solutions for engineers.
- Write server code, optimize for performance and stability, implement security measures, create reusable code libraries, and develop data storage solutions.
- Work closely with the product team to define requirements, estimate delivery timelines for features, and document technical details.
- Lead and mentor your team, building a strong, independent team capable of delivering high-quality projects reliably.
What are we looking for?
Must have:
- 5-10 years in back-end development, with expertise in Java for large-scale applications.
- Proven leadership of teams (5+ members) with successful project delivery.
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple projects and ad-hoc requests.
- Experience in DevOps/SRE practices, including system-level knowledge and scripting.
- Proficiency in distributed programming and major cloud platforms (GCP, Azure and/or AWS).
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet response time SLAs
- Quick learner with solid critical thinking, adaptable to new technologies.
- Passion for technology and enhancing engineering productivity.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
- Analytical and strategic thinking for troubleshooting and aligning team efforts with long-term goals.
Good to have:
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Redis, AWS, CI/CD tools, IaC and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, etc.).
- Knowledge of authentication frameworks (e.g. Auth0), secrets management solutions (e.g., AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault), and cost optimization tools (e.g. CloudZero).
