Opportunity

We are hiring a Team Leader for our Sustainable Finance Investment Team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. LSEG Environment, Social and Corporate Governance team (ESG) is responsible for providing financial and non-financial information to the clients on companies across the globe. The team provides coordinated financial and extra-financial information, which is important for understanding the long-term performance and risk profile of major corporations.

Purpose of this role is to enable LSEG to service its clients by the operational management of resources, to deliver agreed services to specification, by running the operation efficiently and by being able to absorb and handle change at a rate consistent with overall business needs. You will focus on staff motivation, development and allocation; supervising performance against tight Service Metrics timelines. Effectively handle client expectations is a key requirement.

Essential Responsibilities:

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Provide leadership to a team of, typically 8 to 15 employees (performance management, staff development, succession planning, coaching and communication).
  • Recruit, manage and ensure effective training to achieve high professional operational standards.
  • Handle shifts, leave management and general resourcing within the team
  • Track performance by ensuring staff appraisals is scheduled and completed using tools approved by HR to track skills.
  • Motivate, support, and develop staff to enhance and maintain the ability to adapt to the changing requirements of a continuously evolving business environment
  • Develop staff and their skills to enhance content’s profile and actively support individual career progression and development.
  • Encourage a co-operative and "can-do" attitude to enhance LSEG Data standards and performance by harnessing everyone’s skills and talent.
  • Work with other teams to achieve optimum performance from group
  • Challenge your team and expect high standards, leading by example. Ensure the team is kept informed of matters which affect them and their ability to perform in their job.
  • Encourage the adoption and sustenance of a culture of accountability and collaboration within the team.

SERVICE MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure prompt and effective responses to client queries via Service Cloud, Email and RM. Ensure that the team delivers on targets around Service Handling & Quality (Metrics).
  • Ensure priority client relationships are supported and managed well. Takeover management of client relationships as required.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for the data covered in markets supported and ensure constructive dialogue between the service and content production teams.
  • Maintain processes, documentation and resources which ensure on-going service and delivery per agreed business requirements and ensure the service handling analysts remain close to content production concepts and systems.
  • Work with QA, Customer Focus, and other Content Production teams to enhance the above.
  • Ensure that there is an appropriate level of product, customer, and systems development awareness to help understand the broad picture and make good decisions
  • Contribute to improvement in Production processes and provide constructive and timely feedback based on client queries received including in the DCSR forums

Qualification & Skills Required

  • Degree in Business management, Finance, Economics or any business-related courses
  • 2-3 years of experience in people management
  • Ability to collaborate across geographic locations to pursue common objectives
  • Proven examples of delivering global projects successfully
  • Customer-centric, analytical, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently on multiple activities, showing appropriate prioritization and customer concern skills for themselves and team.
  • Demonstrates urgency and drive
  • Experience of building up a new team is plus
