Technical Artist - Physics / Interactivity Focus
Dambuster Studios - creators of the TimeSplitters series alongside Second Sight, Haze, Homefront: The Revolution, and the number one BAFTA nominated smash hit Dead Island 2 - has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Artist, Interactivity to join our highly talented Technical Art team.
Role overview
Collaborating closely with our Technical Design and Environment Art teams to bring interactive objects to life, ensuring stunning visuals and realistic behaviours. We're looking for someone collaborative, innovative, and detail-oriented to contribute to cutting-edge gameplay experiences. Reporting to the Technical Art Director, you'll work alongside industry experts, pushing boundaries in our games.

Responsibilities
Work with the Technical Design and Environment Art Teams to create interactive and destructible gameplay and cinematic assets.
Create and maintain specific materials related to interactivity for use by the art team or for special effects, under the guidance of the Technical Art Director.
Create and maintain blueprints to automate and standardise repetitive asset setup.
Create benchmark art assets to demonstrate technical set-up.
Work with the Technical Art and Core Tech Teams to develop new technology, improve workflows, and resolve technical issues as required.
Work with the Technical Art and Core Tech Teams to manage, organise and optimise the art data.
Assist the Art Team with technical issues and help define and enforce best practice.
Prepare for and attend daily scrums; provide updates
Use associated Project Management systems/Kbox and participate in meetings as defined by Managers, Project Managers and/or Producers to keep the broader team up to date with progress
From time to time be required to do tasks outside of immediate remit (such tasks will usually be closely aligned with the employee’s skillset or knowledge database)
Documenting and presenting processes, techniques, knowledge or guidelines based on the production of work.
Requirements
Proficiency in Blueprint and Unreal Engine physics.
Strong understanding of art, lighting, and material pipelines.
Familiarity with 3ds Max and other art authoring tools.
Methodical problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Willingness to receive feedback and guidance.
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to thrive under deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
