Scopely is seeking a Technical Director to join its Marketing team (Flamed) in Barcelona on a hybrid basis. You will play a key role in coordinating the technical aspects of the 3D production pipeline for an upcoming game, ensuring high-quality assets. Responsibilities include leading technical implementation of 3D assets, developing tools and workflows, troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring seamless integration into Unreal Engine, collaborating with creative and marketing teams, leading content review and approval, staying updated with industry trends, and providing technical insights and feedback. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical direction within games, films, or commercials, strong understanding of asset optimization, experience leading and mentoring technical teams, and proficiency in Unreal Engine, Autodesk Maya, and scripting languages. This role will be instrumental in bringing the game to life, ensuring technical feasibility and achieving high-quality standards.

Scopely is looking for a Technical Director to join our Marketing team Flamed in Barcelona Office on a Hybrid basis.

We are the in-house creative agency Flamed, an International multidisciplinary team. We build thousands of creatives every year to support all Scopely games' marketing needs worldwide.

What You Will Do

We are in the early stages of developing an exciting and action-packed game. As the 3D Lead Technical Director, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the technical aspects of the 3D production pipeline and ensuring the final quality of produced assets.
  • Lead the technical implementation of 3D assets within the production pipeline.
  • Develop and maintain tools, scripts, and workflows to optimize the process.
  • Work closely with artists to troubleshoot technical issues in modeling, rigging, and rendering.
  • Ensure seamless integration of assets into Unreal Engine.
  • Lead all aspects of and troubleshoot sophisticated technical challenges related to animation, rigging, and asset integration.
  • Collaborate with the creative and marketing teams to ensure technical feasibility and support for creative concepts.
  • Lead the technical review and approval process for all content, ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest tools, software, and techniques in both the advertising and game development industries, and implement standard methodologies across the team.
  • Consistently offer technical insights and feedback to collaborators regarding project breakthroughs, risks, and progress.

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated ability in technical direction or a similar role in games, films, or commercials.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing efficient production pipelines for animation and content creation.
  • Strong understanding of asset optimization and technical constraints for different platforms.
  • Experience leading and mentoring technical teams, providing guidance and support for complex problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
  • Enthusiastic about the technical aspects of animation and content creation, with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
  • Advanced proficiency in Unreal Engine.
  • Experience with Autodesk Maya.
  • Advanced proficiency in scripting languages (Python, MEL)
  • Consistent track record of optimizing 3D production pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional proficiency in English at a technical level.
