The Technical Program Manager of a Battery System Design Program will be responsible for leading and managing all technical aspects of the battery module and pack assembly program for a new large customer, from concept development to production. The role requires a strong technical background, program management skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with teams from engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure successful project delivery. The Technical Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the battery assembly program meets technical, quality, cost, and schedule targets while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the Primary Technical Architect of the customer solution
- Develop and manage the battery assembly program plan, including schedules, budgets, and resource requirements, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and document technical requirements, specifications, and test plans for battery assembly components and systems.
- Drive the design and development of battery system architecture and assembly processes, equipment, and tooling, ensuring they meet technical, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Define and implement quality control processes to ensure battery system assembly components and systems meet specifications and standards.
- Identify and manage technical risks and issues, and implement mitigation plans to ensure the program stays on track.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of components and services, and ensure suppliers meet technical, quality, and cost targets.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners.
Qualifications:
- Location: Columbus OH, willing to relocate or travel 50+% of the time
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
- US Citizen or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management, preferably in battery system assembly or a related field.
- Strong technical background in battery assembly processes, equipment, and tooling.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and risk management.
- Experience with quality control processes, including statistical process control and failure mode and effects analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Be intellectually curious. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome technical challenges.
