Job Summary

Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. Addressing Code and Production Health Team (ACPH) improves production incident transparency, quality, and understanding with the goal of reducing the costly problem that is production incidents. The team partners with a development organization of over 10,000 to holistically analyze, report, and improve production incidents across a large fraction of Google. The team engages in deep analysis and understanding of production reliability. It creates tooling to identify gaps in critical production systems and improve operational metrics and incident data quality. Ultimately, information it derives helps direct Ads production excellence efforts, and with its sister teams, has been attributed to billions in avoided incidents. Responsibilities: Work with engineers, technical program managers, and senior stakeholders across ACPH and various Ads organizations to develop velocity around data gathering, data quality improvements, reporting, proliferation of incident management best practices, and keeping Ads systems running reliably. Develop and present executive-level reports and presentations leveraging data insights and expertise in Google incident management. Perform in-depth analysis to gain insights and make recommendations for future improvements in production systems and programs. Collaborate across multiple Google product areas, designing and integrating tooling and processes used for identifying and diagnosing production health incidents, and develop best practices for mitigation and prevention.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with data analytics.
  • Experience with SQL.
Good to have:

  • Experience with product management.
  • Experience with incident management.
