Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. Responsibilities include planning requirements, identifying risks, managing schedules, and communicating with cross-functional partners. You'll work with diverse teams across organizational levels to develop and deliver programs from inception to production, managing multiple programs simultaneously. You'll use technical judgment to drive project delivery, technology reviews, and build consensus, ensuring leadership is updated on progress. The role requires expertise in the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle, managing programs through concept, planning, development, launch, and sustaining stages. This position is focused on Platforms Systems within Google's MSCA organization, supporting Google services and Google Cloud.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years program management experience
  • 5+ years in hardware/software engineering or computer hardware
  • NPI lifecycle management experience
  • Lead cross-functional teams
  • Manage multiple programs simultaneously
Good to have:
  • 8+ years managing cross-functional projects
  • 5+ years in electrical engineering

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in hardware engineering, software engineering, or computer hardware.
  • Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle, and managing programs through the concept, planning, development, launch, and sustaining stages.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • 5 years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • 5 years of experience with cloud computing.
  • 2 years of experience with launching data center products.

The ML, Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization at Google designs, implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for all Google services (Search, YouTube, etc.) and Google Cloud. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse cross-functional team, spanning all organizational levels and functional areas to develop and deliver programs from inception to production.
  • Set the outlook and direction for a program by outlining goals and objectives, evaluating and supervising multiple projects, organizing cross-project work within the program, and defining program controls/governance/standards.
  • Manage multiple cross-functional programs simultaneously with competing priorities. Drive consistency between cloud processes and central processes. 
  • Use technical judgment to drive project delivery, technology reviews, challenge proposals, and build consensus. 
  • Ensure all leadership/stakeholders are aware of progress/blockers on a continuous basis. Drive strategic and tactical decisions throughout all organizations and levels.
