The Technical Program Manager at Google's Supplier Development Engineering team will lead complex module and mechanical parts development for AR products. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • 2 years of experience with supplier quality, or module or mechanical parts process development in the consumer electronics industry or manufacturing field.
  • Experience in display, projection, camera/optics, mechanical engineering, or module manufacturing industry domains.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience in the consumer electronics industry, and experince in launching new products in Contract Manufacturer or Module factories.
  • 5 years of experience in AR, display, optics or mechanical parts development.
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience managing functional engineering or manufacturing teams.
  • Knowledge of Quality and Statistical tools and methods.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

The Supplier Development Engineering team is looking for a Technical Program Manager with experience in augmented reality (AR) industry, display, optics modules and mechanical parts development.
You will lead, motivate, communicate and influence in managing complex module and mechanical parts development, represent the Supplier Development Engineering team and work with cross-functional stakeholders, aligning goals/objectives and expectations to ensure module and mechanical parts meets plans and timelines, resolving problems, identifying gaps and escalating to management as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Supplier Development Engineer representative in core teams and executive forums for all electrical, electromechanical modules and mechanical parts of a product line.
  • Drive modules and mechanical parts resource planning, build and communicate manufacturing process development plans, schedules/milestones.
  • Coordinate & support cross functional development activities and issues to enforce Part-Level Phase Gate milestones & deliverables enabling highest levels of Quality and Reliability built into the modules. 
  • Support Product NPI builds and works with onsite teams to resolve any modules and mechanical parts related issues. Anticipate problems and formulate solutions for given circumstances. Drive technically complex product and process issues with cross-functional teams maintaining information flow.
  • Identify project risks and drive mitigation plans, prioritizing activities and influencing internal teams and suppliers.
