Position: Technical Support & Applications Engineer – Broadcast & Stream Deck Solutions
1. Technical Support and Applications Engineering
· Provide pre- and post-sales technical support, including product demonstrations, training, and troubleshooting for customers and broadcasting professionals.
· Collaborate with customers to identify technical requirements and provide tailored solutions using Elgato’s Stream Deck and related broadcasting products, ensuring seamless integration into their workflows.
· Assist end users with system design, setup, and operation of Elgato hardware and software solutions.
· Work closely with the product management, sales, and engineering teams to relay customer feedback and contribute to product development.
2. Technical Sales Support
· Serve as a technical resource to the sales team, providing in-depth product knowledge during the sales process.
· Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for customers, system integrators, and distributors.
· Identify new business opportunities through customer interactions, providing input on market trends and customer needs.
· Support channel partners with technical training, ensuring they have the tools to successfully promote Elgato products.
3. Customer Relationship Management
· Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, content creators, and industry professionals, becoming a trusted advisor and resource.
· Act as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries from customers and partners.
4. Trade Shows and Events
· Represent Elgato at industry events, trade shows, and exhibitions, showcasing products and solutions tailored for content creators and professional broadcasters.
· Assist in booth setup, technical demonstrations, and customer engagement during events.
Qualifications
1. Technical Skills and Knowledge
· Bachelor’s degree in broadcast engineering, computer science, engineering, electronics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
· 3+ years of experience in a technical role within the broadcast, live production, or content creation industries.
· Strong understanding of automation and macro-based workflows, specifically with Bitfocus Companion and its integrations.
· Familiarity with production tools from companies like Blackmagic Design, Ross Video, Riedel Communications and more.
· Knowledge of AV over IP technologies, streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, WebRTC), and video codecs (H.264, H.265, VP9).
· Networking experience, including IP configuration, VLANs, and troubleshooting IP-based systems.
· Understanding of production workflows involving video switchers, PTZ cameras, audio interfaces, and lighting systems.
2. Sales Acumen
· Proven ability to communicate technical concepts in a way that resonates with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Experience supporting a sales team and contributing to revenue growth.
· Ability to identify customer pain points and propose solutions that align with their content creation goals.
3. Soft Skills
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer-first mindset.
· Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
· Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
4. Other Requirements
· Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 35% of the time, to support customers, attend trade shows, and deliver on-site training.
· Valid driver’s license and passport.
· Experience with CRM and project management tools is a plus.
