Job Description

Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team as a Technical Support Engineer II, specializing in LS Dyna / Mechanical. Your role will involve assisting customers with their engineering simulation projects and integrating Ansys software into their design workflows. You will utilize advanced engineering knowledge and Ansys AI-based platforms to ensure customer success. Responsibilities include deploying resources, ensuring high customer satisfaction, submitting product improvement suggestions, filing defect reports, participating in field testing, developing customer relationships, and sharing knowledge through content creation. You will also promote AI-based technologies for engineers and learn new technical areas as required.
Must have:
  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in an engineering software environment.
  • Demonstrated use of Ansys Mechanical software or knowledge of other commercial CAE software.
  • Knowledge of Structural analysis, Explicit dynamics, Heat transfer and Numerical Methods.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent reading & writing skills in Japanese.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Good to have:
  • 2-3 years of experience in customer-facing roles using engineering simulation software.
  • Experience using Ansys Workbench, Ansys Mechanical, Ansys LS-Dyna, and Ansys Space claim.
  • Fracture analysis, drop and impact analysis physics.

Summary / Role Purpose
Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to assist our customers in all the aspects of their real-world engineering simulation projects and integration of Ansys software in their design workflows and grow Ansys’ business. You will use advanced-level engineering knowledge along with Ansys AI-based platforms to make our customers successful. You will be a part of our positive, dynamic team of enthusiastic and passionate engineers striving to deliver the highest quality solutions to our customers, advancing your pervasive simulation knowledge, experience, and your impact on the success of our customers and Ansys.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deploy and exploit all available resources, including Ansys AI-based platforms to complement your engineering expertise and knowledge of simulation to assist customers in solving their engineering problems and enabling their usage of Ansys Mechanical Products.
  • Ensure high Customer Satisfaction and Customer Success that enable customers' usage/deployment/adoption of Ansys software.
  • Submit suggestions for product improvement, when needed. File defect reports and verify fixes adhering to defect reporting processes. Participate in application field testing of new releases to ensure that new features and workflows will address customer requirements.
  • Develop and strengthen long-term relationships with customers.
  • Share your extensive knowledge and experience by creating & updating content to ensure the most relevant help and information is available for customers and internal colleagues.
  • Be enthusiastic about learning and promoting how AI-based technologies can assist engineers' own abilities to help Ansys customers.
  • Learn and gain expertise in new technical areas as and when required for the team & personal development.
  • Participate in other strategic team and company initiatives, as needed.

 
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Required education and degree type: Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Required minimum 2 years of professional experience in an engineering software environment.
  • Demonstrated use of Ansys Mechanical software or knowledge of other commercial CAE software packages.
  • Knowledge of Structural analysis, Explicit dynamics, Heat transfer and Numerical Methods.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to implement numerical models to obtain practical engineering solutions to difficult problems.
  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to write and speak in English along with fluent reading & writing skills in Japanese.
  • Engaging personality, engineering curiosity and willingness for continuous learning.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Possesses a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with others in a diverse team environment.
  • Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed.

 
Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • 2-3 years of experience in customer-facing roles associated with using engineering simulation software, where the ability to identify customer requirements, effectively communicate solutions, and deliver results have been demonstrated.
  • Experience in using Ansys tools, like Ansys Workbench, Ansys Mechanical, Ansys LS-Dyna, and Ansys Space claim is preferred.
  • Fracture analysis, drop and impact analysis physics will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.
